Scholarships & Financial Aid

There are many ways to pay for college. Click the links below to read about each way.

FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid (Pell Grant money that you don't have to pay back).

Loans - federal loans or private loans (you pay this money back: subsidized - no interest; unsubsidized - with interest)

Work-Study Jobs - part-time employment related to community service or student's course of study

Scholarships -
  • College scholarship application - each college will have an application
  • Merit scholarship - automatic scholarships based on ACT score; must apply by Dec 1 for most Universities but community colleges usually have Spring deadlines around February/March. Check with your perspective college.
  • National, Community, & Private Scholarships:

*** All scholarships that come through the counselor office will be posted in Google Classroom and sent to the student email. Parents can receive the same email by joining the counselor newsletter. Click Here to join.

*** Searching for scholarships can be a full time job. Having community service, a high GPA, and a good ACT are a really good start to winning scholarship money. Be sure to look out for scholarships based on financial need. There are so many out there! You just have to look!
