Driver's Ed

To obtain a learner's permit you need the following:
Official Birth Certificate (no copies)
Official Social Security Card (no copies)
Proof of School Enrollment
***To add a star you will also need two documents stating the address. (May be documents of parents listed on birth certificate).

STAR ID
A star is required on a driver license for in country flights or visiting federal property beginning on October 1, 2021. In addition to birth certificate and social security card (no copies), you will need two documents stating the address. (May be documents of parents listed on birth certificate).

Getting your driver's license through driver's ed at HPHS
SDE certificates issued through driver's ed at the high school will exempt the student from the drivers test. You are still required to bring the learners' license to get the driver's license. 16 yr olds need a guardian. 16 and 17 yr olds need to have a learners' license for at least 6 months before obtaining a driver license.
